About us
MIT Central Library, since its inception, has played an important role in catering to the needs of its users. With the advent of science and technology and with the changes in the information-seeking behaviour of the user, the library has played an important role in meeting their needs using the latest technologies. The state-of-the-art library, located at the heart of the campus, has a rich print and online collection having more than 10000 active users. The library is RFID-enabled, hence securing the library collection and enhancing the quick circulation of books. All e-resources can be accessed remotely using an Open Athens account (Single Sign On). One cannot deny that MIT has one of the finest libraries in the field of engineering in the country and is committed to providing quality service to its clients. The Library Building with an access-controlled entrance occupies a total area of about 70,000 sq ft and has three floors, each with individual and group study halls with 950 seating capacity. The entire library is Wi-Fi enabled and has a security system with CCTV on all floors. The library is fully automated with KOHA software, and collections are RFID tagged. The library offers many research support services like Grammarly, a grammar-checking software, and Turnitin, a plagiarism-checking software.
