Library Facilities and Spaces


MIT Central Library is well-equipped with a state-of-the-art facilities.  The reading space is well designed to promote both comfort and ambience.

Group Study Area: The Group Study space is on the second floor. This area has round tables and comfortable chairs to promote peer collaboration and interactions. The group study area is well-lighted, with central air condition, WiFi and adequate charging outlets.

Individual Study area: Individual carrels are available on all the library floors, including the stack area on the ground floor. These carrels provide a sense of privacy, making them ideal for users who seek to work in solitude.

Information Center: The Information Center is equipped with advanced computer systems (internet-enabled) and provides a learning center for all categories of users.

Drop Box: A Drop Box on the ground floor enables users to return the issued book(s) independently.

Self-Check-in & Self-Check-Out Kiosk: Users can issue and return the book independently using the Kiosk.

Open Library: The Open Library is a new library initiative that is accessible 24/7. Here, both technical and general books are made available to the users. Users can also leave their unused books here.

Auditorium: The auditorium is a spacious location for conferences, seminars, workshops, book talks, etc. located in the 4th Floor of the Central Library building.
